Our Impact
We believe travel should leave a positive footprint. That’s why we work closely with local communities, protect the landscapes we explore, and create fair, sustainable ways to grow tourism across East Africa. Here’s how we live that out:
People

Community Initiatives
We support community-led programs that protect both people and nature. Our safaris contribute to initiatives like *Snares to Wares*, which transforms dangerous wire snares into wildlife sculptures, providing local artisans with sustainable income while promoting conservation. We also help fund Community Wildlife Scouts, trained locals who protect farms from wildlife conflict and remove snares from park boundaries. Through your travel, you’re helping equip these scouts and preserve wildlife for generations to come.

Empowering Women in Western Uganda
Guests stay at Ride 4 a Woman, an NGO supporting vulnerable women through income-generating activities like tailoring and hospitality. Every visit helps women gain skills, independence, and dignity. Visit ride4awoman.org

Hands-On Cultural Experiences
Join a local family for a traditional Acholi village visit, where you’ll learn to prepare indigenous meals like Malakwang and sesame paste over an open fire, gather hibiscus to make Mirinda Fruity, and take part in an age-old tradition called Wang OO—storytelling under the stars. You can even try your hand at basket weaving or clay pottery with artisans like Patrick Okello, using ancestral techniques passed down through generations. These encounters don’t just support livelihoods—they build real understanding between visitors and hosts.
Planet

Wildlife Conservation
We don’t just talk about conservation — we build it into the experience. Our guests have the rare opportunity to visit rhino sanctuaries and trek through the forests to see endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. These encounters support vital conservation efforts: park fees and permits directly fund anti-poaching units, habitat protection, and community education programs. Every visit helps ensure these incredible species not only survive but thrive for generations to come.

Cutting Down Plastic Waste
We’ve swapped single-use plastics for reusable alternatives wherever we can. From refillable water bottles to eco-friendly toiletries in our partner lodges, we’re making small changes that matter.

Travel and Its Impact
We know long-haul flights—especially those used to reach East Africa—emit a significant amount of CO₂. While we can’t eliminate that entirely, we believe in taking steps to reduce our footprint. That’s why for every guest, we plant a tree in partnership with Treescape Planet. Trees naturally absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, helping to offset the environmental cost of travel over time. It’s a simple yet powerful way to give back to the landscapes that make our journeys possible.
Profit

Sustainable Business, Shared Value
We believe tourism should benefit everyone it touches. That’s why we build fair partnerships with local operators, pay living wages, and create flexible travel experiences that support long-term livelihoods, not just short-term profits.
